What you need
Plan the cable run and identify wall cavities using a stud finder to avoid framing and services.
Drill entry and exit holes at the source and destination points.
Feed fish tape through the wall cavity between the two holes.
Attach the Cat6 cable to the fish tape and draw it through the cavity slowly.
Leave 30cm of slack at each end for termination.
Never staple directly through the cable jacket — use cable clips rated for data cable.
Terminate each end onto a keystone jack or wall plate following the T568B wiring standard.
Mount the wall plates and secure any exposed cable runs.
Test the run end-to-end with a cable tester before patching it into the switch.
